Death I
Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
36 in x 36 in
2015
This
was our third and last project of Contemporary Art Practice called 'From
Realistic To Non-
Representative'. The project consists of
series of three works. The work above shown is my first
work of the project. My all works from
this project were based on experiments with new
technicalities and media. The ideas or
concepts I have prepared or enrolled in this project is
about nature and its rule that we cannot
deny. My first work is realistic in appearance. The
elements included here are the skull,
bones and hour glasses. These elements depict the rule of
nature and time, no matter how hard we
try we cannot rule over them. My work's relation with
these two elements is like this; In case
of nature, if we are born then it is sure we will die one
day and in case of time, we cannot
control time or make it follow us but we have no choice of
following it. Likewise, the main element
here is the skull which depicts the death as per the rule
of nature and time.
Death II Wood,
Clay, Plastic Jar and Ash
Dimension Variable
2015
This is the second work and one of the series
from the last project. This is one of my favourite
works. This is the work I have
experimented with different and unfamiliar mediums than usual
before. I have combined different
elements like wood, clay, plastic jar and ash together into one.
This work is wonderful and unique to me
as this is my first installation based work ever. This is
This is the second part of the series.
The burnt woods, the ashes inside the plastic jar and the
ashes spread on the base of the skull
and the skull itself are the major elements of this work.
Here these elements depict the cremation
process after death. The work is represented in semi-
realistic forms here. In my view the
work stands as the strong expression as it is visually
impacting and delivers a concrete
feeling to the viewers.
Death III Acrylic
and Oil on Canvas
36 in x 36 in
2015
This is the last work from the series of the
last project. The figures and elements here are
represented in non-representative forms.
The painting is divided into three section, the upper
part with white, the middle part with
grey and the lower part with black color. This work is
based on the people's beliefs regarding
after-death. Nobody knows what happens after death.
We are unknown about the facts whether
our soul will lead towards light or dark. We don't
know where our soul will rest after
death. We don't know about mystical facts of our soul
being rested whether in heaven or in hell.
The white and black color are respectively the
representation of the light and dark,
the heaven and hell. The red color applied here in the
middle part above the grey represents
our state of being unknown about that particular facts and
the state of neutrality.
